Cover Letter

I left China after college to pursue graduate education in the United States. I received my highest academic degree (Ph.D. in Business Administration) from Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University. Prior to accepting the job offer from ShanghaiTech University in Spring 2016, I was on faculty at the School of Business Administration, University of Mississippi. Since January 2017, I have been serving as one of the senior ranked professors (i.e.: there was no full professor nor tenured full/associate professor at that time. There were 4 non-tenured associate professors and around 10 non-tenured assistant professors.) at the School of Entrepreneurship and Management (SEM) at ShanghaiTech University. I also became a Distinguished Adjunct Professor at the ShanghaiTech School of Information Science and Technology (SIST).

Since ShanghaiTech University was a newly founded university (founded in 2013) and since I was hired as a senior ranked faculty (i.e.: associate professor), I was called to serve in full force in addition to teaching and research when I was hired. Over the years, I have witnessed, experienced, and participated in the tremendous growth of our students, our faculty body, and our University. After six years of devoted research, teaching, and service at the schools and at the University, I am submitting my tenure application for associate professor with this dossier. In this website, you can find my records and statements for research, teaching, and service, along with available supporting documents. Thank you for the time and support, should you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
